Hosted by SWISSMEM – Swiss Member Association, representatives from 14 European countries (Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey) gathered in Zurich - Switzerland on the 21st and 22nd of April at a meeting of the European branch of the International Special Tooling & Machining Association.
The meeting was chaired by ISTMA Europe President, Fausto Romagnani who took the opportunity to present his plan of activities for 2008-2010 and to review the ongoing activities of the branch.
During the meeting country reports have been presented, suggesting that business conditions are slightly improving in the region Also representatives from European Projects “Eurotooling 21” and “Virtual Injection Moulding – VIM” took the chance to present its latest developments to country representatives.
A packed meeting agenda included visits to SWISSMEM member companies Otto Hofstetter and Feinstanz as well as to Oerlikon Balzers located on Liechtenstein. In addition, delegates found time for networking and for exchanging information about the manufacturing situation in various European states and regions.
The next ISTMA Europe meeting is already scheduled for 20th and 21st of October 2008, in Barcelona, Spain, during “Equiplast” trade show.
