Globalization of markets requires the introduction of uniform terms for standard parts. ISTMA has developed specialized dictionaries to help overcome the language barriers.
More than 300 international delegates from approximately 20 countries attended the 2010 ISTMA World Tooling Conference in Windsor (20-24 June) which was the culmination of the 13th International Special Tooling and Machining Association (ISTMA) Conference, the 11th International Pattern-Model Makers Congress, and an Incoming Trade Mission - partly funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) and Fed-Dev Ontario.
Board of Directors reunion, Regional Branches meetings and ISTMA General Assembly were held in Windsor (Canada), on 20th and 21st of June, previous to the World Conference. These meetings addressed important issues for the future of ISTMA, including the formal approval 2009 accounting and 2010 activities and budget.
The “ISTMA Statistical Year Book – edition 2010” was officially released during the last ISTMA Board of Directors meeting held on March 2nd in St. Thomas, USA. This new edition of ISTMA Statistics consolidates a new philosophy and methodology in the collection of official international commerce and governmental statistics.
Hosted by STTS – Polish Member Association, the newest member of ISTMA Europe, meeting was chaired by ISTMA Europe President, Fausto Romagnani, which reviewed the ongoing activities of the branch and discussed with members new collective activities and initiatives.
